About

Amy Bishop, Abstract/Mixed Media Artist

Local Iowa artist Amy Bishop started her creative journey in 1992, when she was given a used 35mm Olympus camera. By 2010, she started combining her passion for color and form to create abstract art from paper, encaustic, plaster, acrylic paint and ink. Her passion is to create art that reflects her authenticity. Her mission is to take the mystery out of the creative process for her students and help them discover the empowerment and transformation that creativity offers.

In 2014, Amy was selected to show in the 29th Annual National Juried Fine Arts Show and Sale in Louisville, CO. Kirkwood College has included her work in their permanent collection. You will find her throughout Eastern Iowa, California, Colorado, Wisconsin, Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio and Indiana in the homes of local art collectors.

You can find her work at The Art Cellar in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Her home and studio are located in Mechanicsville, IA.
